Linux и веб-камера

Столкнулся с проблемой - линух не поддерживает девайс. Девайс простецкий, Genius (Kye) Videocam live. Сайт производителя дров, как водица, не предложил. Вопли к гуглю прошли без эффекта. Девайс общался с осью через TWAIN (для форточек), ничего похожего на твайн-манагеры для линухов не нашел. Были поползновения в сторону sane - без эффекта, девайс не виден. :( Куды б копнуть? Мот кто сталкивался с подобным?

а что он такое? если оно втыкается в usb, то покажи вывод lsusb.
Опыт растет прямо пропорционально выведенному из строя оборудованию

У меня Genius EasyCam GF-112. Дрова не знаю как в дистре, а и-нете есть. Сорцовые. Собрал и работает.
Сомневаюсь, и вам советую!

Купіў Labtec Webcam Plus, і gspca-modules-2.6.25-2-686 усё выдатна вызначылі.

А чем вообще в линуксе "смотреть" веб-камеру?

У меня есть какая-то, втыкается в USB, и я даже не знаю, поддерживается она или нет, потому что не нашёл программу, в которой её можно посмотреть).

В Windows определяется как DSC... И может работать как сканер.

Я так понимаю, что видео перестает записываться через 60 секунд от события.

Опыта в настройке видеонаблюдения не имею, поэтому прошу совета. Как изменить настройки Motion, чтобы видео начинало записываться по началу события и останавливалось по окончании?
