Partition Table&Linux

Помогите, пожалуйста.
У меня очистилась Partition Table. Linux смог
восстановить, вспомнив размеры его дисков, а
всё остальное - оставяет желать лучшего.
Вопрос: пишет ли куданибудь Linux эту таблицу
или хотя бы ссведенья где начинаются/заканчиваются
физически диски, которые автоматически подключаются
(запись о которых есть в fstab'е)???

Да вроде никуда не пишет, да и не должен писать.
А для восстановления таблицы разделов попробуй gpart:
