В настройках менеджера входа в систему в закладке выключения выбрал
grub, в завершении сеанса на кнопке перезагрузка появляется меню с списком установленных систем, но почему-то не хочет перезагружаться в ту систему которую я выбираю.

а куда же он перегружается?

смотрим /boot/grub/menu.lst

Перегружается в ту которая по дефлоту стоит. А в menu.lst что-то не нахожу что подправить нужно.

если не находишь, значит читаем комментарии и дописываем.

Тоже вроде не видно.

В Suse она точно работает, может кто пользуется покажет свой /boot/grub/menu.lst

Покажи свое меню (menu.lst). И есть ли у тебя другие *.lst файлы в /boot/

Кроме menu.lst больше .lst файлв нет.

а какую систему тебе нужно выбирать нам тоже догадываться?

если в винду, то попробуй

Да, еще вопросец, зачем тебе savedefault? попробуй без этой опции. Может в ней дело, а может в "Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.17" слэшке в названиях. Замени их чем-нить и попробуй заново. И еще, в некоорых системах конфиг grub лежит в /boot/grub/grub.conf - эо тоже может быть. Проверь, все должно работать
